What is Personal Training?

Personal Training at the YMCA pairs you with a nationally certified trainer who inspires, challenges, and guides you toward your strongest, healthiest self- through expert instruction, personalized workouts, and motivating support every step of the way. 

 

Our trainers are here to:

  • Assist in establishing and achieving general fitness/wellness goals
  • Help with pre-op preparation or post rehab maintenance
  • Create sport specific training regimens
  • Establish a fundamental fitness baseline
  • Orient the client to alternative workout techniques and methodology

Just complete the Personal Training Inquiry Form below, and within 48 hours our Fitness & Wellness Director, Kat Draego, will personally connect with you to match you with the ideal trainer for your goals, schedule, and style. Already have a favorite trainer in mind? Perfect- they’ll reach out ot you directly to get your plan underway!

Do I Need To Be a YMCA Member? 

No, you can register for personal training as a Program Participant but a perk of being a YMCA member is a discount on our packages.

Who Are Our Personal Trainers?

All YMCA personal trainers are nationally certified, CPR/1st Aid and AED trained and experienced in working with a wide variety of fitness levels.

How Long Is Each Session?

Our packages are available in either 45 or 60 minute sessions.

What Should I Expect At My First Session? 

Your trainer will review your goals, ask about your health history, any prior experiences, and conduct a select fitness assessment. An introductory workout may be part of this experience.

About Our Training Packages

Do We Offer Small Group or Partner Training?

We offer a Partner Workout. This allows for two people of similar fitness levels to receive a training experience together. This is an affordable option as the cost of training is divided between the participants.

At this time, we are limiting partner workouts to a ratio of two participants to one trainer.

Can I Request a Trainer Who Specializes in a Specific Goal?

Yes, whether your goals are to lose weight, gain strength, increase athletic performance, or rehabilitation, we will match you with a trainer whose skills best align with your needs.

Nutrition Coaching is also available as a variation of our Personal Training Program.

Do You Offer Any Training Programs for Youth?

Yes, we offer a 2-session Youth Training package for youth ages 12-15 which, upon completion, will also allow them to work out independently in our fitness area.

Pricing & Packages

How Much Do the Personal Training Packages Cost?

Please see the pricing chart at the bottom of this page for current pricing.

Personal training comes in either 45 or 60 min packages consisting of 1, 5, or 10 sessions.

Do You Offer Financial Assistance?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer scholarship opportunities to cover individual or partner training packages at this time. 

If you are in need of assistance, please reach out to our Fitness & Wellness Director, Kat Draego, to explore other options for your health and fitness journey. 

Additional Policies

Is There a Cancellation Policy?

We require a minimum of at least 24 hours advance notice to reschedule a session.

Failure to provide notice will result in the session being marked as NO SHOW and the missed session will be forfeited.

Do Unused Sessions Expire?

Yes. All personal training packages are good for 1 year from the date of purchase.

Individual Training & Partner Workouts:

Personal Training (PT) is available for everyone ages 12 and up.

We offer both individual training packages as well as partner workout packages for both YMCA members and non members.

All packages expire 12 months from date of purchase.

The Partner Workout package is a ratio of two (2) people of similar fitness levels to one (1) instructor. This ratio is reflected in the program fee.

Instructors will schedule sessions at times when all participants are available to attend.

Please notify your instructor prior to your scheduled session if you need to reschedule. It is at instructors discretion if the missed session will be rescheduled or forfeited.

Quickstart Personal Training sessions are affordable one-hour experiences designed to provide education and know-how in targeted fitness modalities. 

We currently offer this format for Nautilus Circuit Training and Activtrax Assessment and Enrollment.
